My Hometown of San Francisco

Location

San Francisco is in the northern part of California. It is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Bay Area. 

San Francisco is well known for its steep hills. There are at least 50 hills in the span of the city. These hills can be all tall as 305 meters high. 





Cimate

The temperature usually ranges from 7 C to 24 C. It rarely falls below 4 C or goes above 28 C. The summers are long, comfortable, and clear. The winters are short, cold, wet, and foggy. The months with the best weather to visit are from late June to early October. 




Top Three Tourist Attractions

1. The Golden Gate Bridge





The Golden Gate Bridge is the most famous site in San Francisco. The bridge connects San Francisco to the northern counties and districts. This bridge was opened on May 28th, 1937. Not only is the bridge open to drivers as well as pedestrians and cyclists. 



2. Alcatraz Island




Alcatraz is known as one of the United States' most infamous prisons. The prison opened in 1934 and shut down in 1963. Ten years later, it reopened as a tourist attraction. Famous criminals, such as Al Capone, were imprisoned here. 


3. Fishermans Wharf


Fishermans Wharf is a pleasant location to walk about and get a feel for the city. It is well-known for its shops, restaurants, and scenic location along the waterfront. There is also plenty of museums such as a wax museum and a magic museum.
